On the list, first day back...
Dear Diary,
Went to the allotment today, well, I've been going almost everyday now. It has been a very dismal, dull day and very slushy mud along the lanes, I'm going to have to get some wellies!
It was also quite cold, so Dad lit the log burner and whilst he was digging and nipping around the site, I kept nice and toasty warm. The warmth actually makes you quite tired!
Last night, my Dad asked me to search for allotment applications and I filled out my Mum's information. Dad said that means I'm officially on the waiting list. :)
I know exactly what I'm going to grow. Fruit; such as rhubarb, raspberries, strawberries and pears.
Certain Veg; such as, artichokes, rocket salad, radish and sugar snaps. Various flowers; such as daisies, sweet pea and roses. Herbs; such as garlic, chives, lavender and coriander.
Plus, I would really like one grassy, spacey area for my little sister to play and do her wild things there. If any space left, I told my Dad I would like the swing and see-saw frame from his plot onto mine, for her. I would also like chickens and let my sister have one of her own. She wants to call it Bob :)
I've already drawn a sketch to show how I want it. I'd like a theme of colour, loads of flowers at least!
Oo, I'd also like either a bed or a sofa in the shed ;)
I think you get the jist. Looks massive, but in reality it'll probably be a lot smaller.
I like to sketch things out, either to stick to my plan, change it, refer back to it or to just remember my ideas!
Think this is really cute. It's like a crumbly, brick heart shape that I found on my Dad's friend's plot. Just kept it because it's not often you can spot something like this, must mean something..;) :)
Then I dropped it by mistake, and it chipped. A crumb fell off and looking closely, that's also the shape of a heart. Haha!

Bits and bobs!
Dear Diary,
Just thought, why don't I just have this blog post for some pics, along with a caption of course. I might throw in my Dad's link to his allotment diary, check it out!
This was half of my Dad's allotment from in the Summer last year. I threw all my attention to the artichokes (tall plants at the back), I had never saw one before or ate one for that matter and I was really excited for harvesting them. Shame they died.
The log burner. I love it, especially watching and listening to the fire crackling! Often sit in here with Dad when it's cold in the Winter, my Dad's friend sometimes joins us :)
Really going to miss it in the Summer though! :(
This is my little sister, burrowing herself in the artichokes last Summer. She said, as I recall, she liked the sticky feeling of those leaves. Aw. She really loved coming up, so I suppose when it gets a little warmer she could start going up there again! Probably draw her attention to the chickens again :)
These are only a few photos, so i'll add some more another time.

Introduction
Dear Diary,
In 2011, my Dad decided to get an allotment. He was on the waiting list for a little while, but then finally one was available. I recall going up there to see, what was now his, plot. It was a mess; weeds and thick, tall grass, which was very tickly, covered the land. I remember exploring through it, coming across annoying bees, bugs and wasps. I never went up there for a bit after that. Some weeks progressed, Dad was bragging about how good his plot was coming along. I agreed to come up there again, with my little sister. My Dad had done so good, it seemed completely different! The best part was, no more nasty little pests.
I went up there a lot more and I helped my Dad out. As it was Summer, I enjoyed watching all the crops grow. I did hours of weeding and I was pretty good at it. I really enjoyed myself! Dad started letting me sow some seeds, even some of my own.
Meanwhile, I have also met a lot of nice people, who are my Dad's friends, such as Rob, and some others. They're all really nice and I feel very comfortable and safe at the allotment. My Dad's mate Rob, who reminds me of Mr. Bloom from 'Mr. Bloom's Nursery' on 'Cbeebies', lets me and my little sister see his chickens. He's also very kind and helpful and my sister adores him.
My Dad asked me one night, if i'd like an allotment of my own. Of course I replied, but because of my age, I can't have one of my own officially. My Dad has decided to get another one in my Mum's name.
I can't wait to get growing and designing my own plot. I'd love to do all the things my Dad and his friend have done, myself. I love to be outdoors, especially up at the allotments where it's so calm and undisturbed. As well as relaxing, I'd love to take on a new challenge and I know my Dad and others will help me. And as well as growing pure and healthy crops, I can't wait to carry on these blog posts. This website isn't going to just be a diary of my journey, but my journey on my Dad's plot too.
That's me above, holding my Dad's freshly grown cabbages. See, wouldn't it be cool for me to be able to say 'I did that' as i'm holding up the longest carrot in the world.
Please take time in reading my future blogs.
<3 Thanks
